Mud and other stories

You know that stuff that comes down from the sky - commonly called rain. Can be a lifesaver or cause a great deal of trouble. Check out the photos - that's Mark trying to dig through mud to clear out the drain as the rain overflowed the clogged drainage at the top of the hill. Cascading water down our driveway. Giant mess. That's Walter (Star Mt savior) in the machine clearing out the mud when we realized it was a monumental job not meant for man & shovel. Job is not done yet - new gravel has to be brought in, and somehow move the gravel out that lodged itself in the drainage pipe under the driveway. It's the surprises of home ownership that we all love...
Saw a badger for the first time ever on the way out of Star Mt. I took a really bad photo so have put the mammal book's version up too. And it looked exactly like that. Wow, yet another predator - chipmunks look out.
Beautiful bucks are very visible around our property now although they don't seem to want to jump the fence and come in. The does have no problem with this.
One thing about this rainy weather pattern, absolutely gorgeous sunsets at the end of the day.
