Mountains, fishing, animals, and flowers

So apparently when we thought all was done with COVID we were incorrect. Mark is fully recovered, and I never got it, but I have now been exposed again. We went on a day fishing/painting/picnic trip with Kim and Steve, and Kim, two days later, came back positive and feeling poorly. She is recovering nicely a week in, and Steve and I remain negative and asymptomatic. Three more days of testing and then home free. I had to order and get more tests. Been going through a lot of those lately!

The forementioned fishing trip was a lot of fun. We went to Cebolla Creek area which is near Lake City. Went down slumgullion pass, past Lake Cristobal, and into Lake City. A spectacular picturesque area. There was fishing  and watercolor painting success and a nice picnic stop. Definitely worth the drive over.

The elk are still around with babies growing up

On our drives around saw a real sheepherder with his flock. Old style living

Mom and twin fawns in our yard.

Lots of animal sightings these days. These marmots above live in a den right below our property and see some every morning when I walk. I had no idea there were six babies until a week ago. We try to discourage them from coming close to the house as they are digging eating destructive machines, but awfully cute from a distance.

Mariposa Lily

The wildflowers everywhere continue to be spectacular this summer. New types pop up every week. We continue to have moderate temps and lots of afternoon rain showers. Very grateful. Happily my hanging baskets are doing well also and are currently not being used as a home for critters. The baskets are doomed if they find them. Crossing fingers...
