Winter With a Capital W

Winter has welcomed us back with 40 mile an hr winds that drift up the snow blocking our driveway and a number of places on our roads. Our trusty guy from town comes out to clear and this time we had him push back our "little" pile. Our neighbor has been fighting the good fight plowing for us without big machinery. Hurray on the help.

Went to warm up our cross country skis with a session at CB with lunch after at Ryce as a reward. Blue sky and no wind that day.

We hit last day before turnover on holiday week and the restaurant was jammed. Glad they're doing well. There have been some changes in restaurants while we were away, always a little disconcerting. Paradise Cafe is now Coal Creek?? I'll let you know when I find out the background. Secret Stash has a Red Room (gourmet food under the building )which clearly means Lobar Sushi place is gone). Montanya Rum moved into where the mexican restaurant was, and the organic bakery is front and center in their old place rather than in the back, plus MoMo (another Tibetan food place - great food, this one outside until now).

I apparently am addicted to taking MOOC classes and have signed up for yet another one. Starts the 16th - Roman Architecture, this time out of Yale. I have done a poor job enticing everyone into signing up for these classes- noone has contacted me to say they jumped in there and love all this opportunity. So in the essence of learning - no money, drop out at a whim, but really they are great - what's not to like, free online classes that are run by professors at prestigious universities around the world.

We have seen elk, deer, bald eagle, and porcupine so far. Tracks all around for coyote and fox just no physical animal.

And the snowshoeing has been good, a tad strenuous but fine. Gotta love the scenery.
